Personal notes. Bernadette Soubirous.
With the exception of the autobiographic narratives of the Apparitions, the small note book containing Bernadette's personal notes, is certainly the most precious treasure of Saint Bernadette kept in the archives of Saint-Gildard's Convent, Nevers.
In this very modest note book, Saint Bernadette has written down:
- Extracts from Books that she had read ( Father Olivain, victim of the commune of Paris 1871, Fr. Thomas de Jesus)
- Notes taken down during a retreat given by a Jesiut, Father Secail, from October 21st to October 30th, 1873
- A few outlines of meditations
- A beautiful prayer to the Virgin Mary in the form of a dialogue between the soul and Mary
- Then follow notes taken down during the retreat given by a Jesuit, Father Candeloup, from September 5th to 14th, 1874
- Sentence on Holiness and rules.
They will enable the reader to follow Bernadette futher in the admirable progress of her soul.
